Does anyone know what vehicle the Caterham handbrake cables originate from? I
don't know if there is more than one type but it is the one that uses a
pulley wheel for the left/right balance. Like in this picture:

The rear cable is probably sierra but the front cable with the pulley looks like it could do just the job on my phoenix.

That looks ideal - thanks. just a couple of questions...

Can the pulley wheel be removed to put the cable in or does it have to be threaded through? Also how big is the wheel - it look about 25-30mm to me?

As best as I could measure it (in a cold scottish rainy garage!), the wheel is 1.5" in diameter and the threaded rod is 5/16.
The spring clip (clipped around the body of the fitting) swings off sideways and the pin pops out.
Adjusting the bottle screw is far easier than using the adjusters on the Sierra cable as well.
