Has anyone else tried doing a mix 'n match on their uprights and hubs? I have a set of Corty uprights and just bought a set of hubs and
brakes from a Nissan Bluebird - they were quite a bit lighter and happen to suit the stud pattern on my rear axle. The bearings are obviously
different - the Cortina stub axle is quite a bit thinner than the bluebird one. I was considering making up a couple of bushes to press onto the axle
so I can use the standard Nissan bearings.
Anyone have any comments/suggestions on this approach???

Have you thought of using toyota lite ace uprights ? they are quite similar to the cortina ones dimensionally and will match the PCD of your blebird
diff the top taper is the same as cortina but needs to be reamed a little and the bottom lite ace ball joint can be used with a little redesign of
the lower A arm . gives you ventlated disc brake . l
any way here is a picture of mine with out the upper A arms (still waiting for my mate to finish them ) I am using steering arms from a MK 1 escourt
which are yet to be attached .

Good idea Iain - I like the look of the vented brakes.
what's the weight of your setup compared to the cortina one?

don't have a weight comparison but the toyota stuff could be lighter . I realise that if you have the cortina stuff already the easiest option
will be to have the hubs re drilled to 114 pcd fairly painless to do Paul Hannel from the brisbane P37 group has done a few but it should be easy to
find some one to do it if you don't have the facility your self . I went to the Toyota stuff mainly because I got a donor van for bugger all and
I wanted the whole braking system from one car (to keep the engineer happy .)
