Although this is a question specific to the Tiger Avon, i thought I would post it here because it could be relevant to all cars and i would appreciate
the wider input...
I have seen two different ways of mounting the forward brake flexis
this first one is ayoungmans ans follows the book recomendation:
rad, will it fit ?
(apologies for the size of the piccy)
The second method is from Andy bause:
So what do you think ? do I go with option 1 or 2
the main problem I see with Option1 is that the coupling from the flexi to the rigid pipe will be mounted on the GRP, with option 2 I am not sure
about fouling/clearance
Cheers
I think option 1 is the better option.
If you put a large enough washer behind the GRP you should be fine.
I was considering welding a small bracket onto the upright in order to mount the flexi pipe/ solid pipe. Haven't got round to it yet though !
Option 1 !
I have used option 1. Recommended by Mac#1 and passed SVA several times. Washer required to spread the load.
Just noticed - is it just me or does the pipe route differently in the 2 pictures of option 2?
Why does the one to the nearside go all the way round the front and back instead of going across the bulkhead and up the same side as it operates? It would have saved a lot of bending and clipping.
I'm not even sure the pipe is connected at the chassis end in pic 1
