Quick rack and alloy mounts spacer

Hi folks

Just received new rack and alloy mounts from Rallydesigns, but having some trouble mounting it...

The left one has a shim the fits neatly in the space provided but the right hand side appears to be too thin and too long, if i was to try and torque it up the rack would rattle around in the mount, any guidance appreciated:

root cause found: the main shaft of the rack is 1mm smaller than a genuine ford escort one that I have on the car already. I'll be having a word with RD on Monday to see what they suggest.

I made another shim to fit under the rack , been fine for around 8 years

The shim under the rack isn't right, but more irritating is that the inside diameter of the smaller mount is 32mm, but the outside of the rack is 31mm so it isn't a snug fit. the other end is snug and has zero play, the same when using it on the original rack.

I'm now looking at using 0.5mm steel (baked bean can) to shim the mount and make a thicker shim for the bottom... not really what I expected to have to do having spent £170 on a new rack with new mounts, I expected a higher degree of compatibility.

I remember fitting my brackets to the rack and having to tap them on with a hammer they were so tight, yours are definitely not right
