Has anyone had a TRT fitted to their prop, post getting car on the road, and was the difference worth the cost?
Yes, and yes. But my existing prop was knackered so maybe not a fair comparison. My engine and diff were solid mounted though, so the TRT was the only give in the entire drive line. It made starts easier, shifts smoother and made the car quieter. Well worth the extra.
definately worth it for all the above reasons
Having just spent a grand fixing my blade gearbox, I'd say yes definitely. Anything to protect the box would be worth it for me after that.
Yep definitely worth the money on all counts
We had a TRT prop fitted on our MK after it had been on the road for a while. It takes the 'ding' (technical term) out of the gear change
but doesn't remove the clunkiness altogether. IMHO, it's the closest you'll get to replicating the cush drive on the rear sprocket of a
motorbike. The TRT prop will be more mechanically sympathetic on the gearbox than a solid prop and should help prolong the life of the gearbox.
The difference is worth the cost IMO
