I'm trying to work out how to clip the brake pipe to the escort axle.

The previous owner didn't bother and I can't run them where they normally live due to the brackets for the trailing arms/shocks being in the way.

I'd like to keep it as neat as possible rather than just use big cable ties.

I was told ages ago that cable ties aren't acceptable (but I have no documentation to support that claim!).

I tack-welded some screws to the axle by their heads, and used nuts & shake-proof washers to hold down some P-clips. Seemed to work OK, but may be tricky for you if the axle is fitted.

How about fastening a metal strip to the axle tubes using jubilee clips, then fixing the pipe to the strip by some means? If the strip was this shape

Then you could hold p-clips with nuts and bolts.

Thanks David, but any ideas how I could secure it where it goes up over the diff? and other parts where the axle is too wide/odd shape for jubilee clips?

Make some clips to fasten to the diff cover bolts or if it's the earlier one the nuts that hold the diff in from the front. The pipe moves with the axle so it shouldn't need too much holding. I've used tiewraps for several cables and stuff and nothing was said about them.

This has just recently been covered ... Hope this LINK will be of use.

I drilled and tapped mine whilst the axle was stripped then used rubber P clips, seemed the best way at the time.
