Good old Wilwood!
I asked on here couple of days ago regarding spanner size for the Wilwood nipple 1/4 inch AF was the answer.
So off I went and found out 4BA is the same so I had a spanner to fit, a very small one.
Put it on turned the nipple crack and it broke - The black bit.
Couldn't get an 11mm on the brass bit as the Allen stud holding the Caliper together was in the way.
So in went the easy out and crack went the brass bit leaving the threads in the Caliper.
After a lot of swearing and head scratching I got my drill and drilled down the remaining brass bit got another easy out in and very luckily managed
to remove the brass bit with no damage to the caliper.
On inspection of the bleed nipple it looks like its had some locktite on it, why would they do that??
I'm off for a beer and to calm down
Bleed nipple near disaster

looks to me as though the nipple is the wrong size, given the damage to the threads?
Sounds to me like you made a damned good recovery.
I have found easyouts anything but.
As said above, excellent recovery.
The best place for easiouts is in the bin!!
I agree with the easy outs they are not great but on this occasion worked, don't think I ever had success with them before!
Probably cos it was brass and not too tight.
Anyway had a beer and everything is calm again
