caliper refurb kit
splitrivet - 5/7/04 at 03:59 PM

Hey up guys, went to get a caliper refurb kit from my local motor factors today (he didnt have one by the way said he'd have to order it) and nearly fell over when he said it would be about 40 squids, cant see how they can justify that for a few rubber seals etc.
Anyone know where they are available for a better price, cortina by the way.
Cheers,
Bob

I've only done one of mine and made the mistake of going to my local Ford dealership. The cylinder alone cost nearly £30. Replacing all of the rubbers, the bleed valve and a couple of bolts added another £10. Still, it looks nice now. Rescued attachment brake012.jpg

Got mine from GTS, £18 for both calipers

That can't be far off the price of a recon caliper and you get them with a nice shiny plated finish.

Thats what I thought Pete, dont know whether that included the piston or not.
Strange cos this guy is usually very reasonable.
Brakes int do a seal kit for 3.80 which is about what I expected to pay, thanks blueshift.

With a recon caliper (at about £40) you also get 12months warranty.

Enjoy.
