I have seen a local advertisement for 8x13" Minilites with part worn tyres, Ford fitting. The ad mentions suitable for RWD. Are these a suitable size for a standard Locost using Cortina front hubs and an Escort solid axle?

Will they fit within standard GRP wings etc? or would i require a larger size?

They will be way to wide for standard wings. Also, they will have to be ET 0 to have the right back space. Unless you have over 200bhp I would not recommend them.

Oh well, i'll forget that one then.

I am quite keen to use the minilite style of wheel for my car, so could someone tell me what the correct size and offset should be, to fit best.

BTW what is 'ET 0'?

If you have <150bhp then probably 6x13 with 185/60s all round, if 150-180bhp then 6x13s with 185/60 up front and 7x13s with 205/60s on the rear.

If you are going new then ET 19 for 6s and 7s.

I recommend looking on www.blatchat.com or boardroom.wscc.co.uk as there are always some kn minators (caterham minilites) for sale with decent tyres. They will be the right offset.

Where are the 8 x 13 's advertised ?. I have a set of slicks that I'm looking for a set of 13's to put them on.
If youre not interested, I would appreciate a tip off as to where they are advertised and for how much.

ET is offset, it is how far the the surface the hub mounts to, is away from the inside edge of the wheel.

Fifer, the advert is in the Scot-Ads (Highland & Grampian version), issue 22/04.

The ad reads;

"Ford rear wheel drive Minilites, 8x13, with tyres, 250 pound."

The seller is in Grantown-On-Spey (South of Inverness)

ET is the offset distance, +ve or -ve, of the mounting face to the vertical centre line of the wheel and is measured in millimetres.
