MK 2 Cortina?

prawnabie - 5/5/10 at 09:45 PM

type 2

my thinking was - the type 2 tail housing is a little different - and type E sometimes has an integral bellhousing.....

easy way to tell though - has it got a 1" 23 spline or a 7/8" 20 spline input shaft

Ill check the splines when Im home, which would be which?

Cheers for all the replies!

mcerd1 - 5/5/10 at 10:16 PM

type 2 = 7/8" with 20 splines

type E = 1" with 23 splines

This picture identifies it as a Type 2. Perhaps different tail housings were fitted over it's life?
