My next project is moving after considering all the crap I have lying around. I've now decided to get on with it.
Its true 'locost' as I don't want to spend very much at on it. It aint going to be pretty.
Plan now is to do a coil conversion on the Jago chassis using the Suzuki axles and landrover radius and trailing arms. Engine will probably be a 1.8
zetec with the bike carbs I've just bought mated to the SJ 4x4 transmission.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
sorry no help here, but I am interested. Is that a jeep style kit car?
Does it have an offroading reputation or is it more of an imitation jobby?
Considering you're going rough and ready with it I guess its more for getting muddy than going cruising?
I really enjoy off roading so a kit option could be of interest to me as my next project.
Yep it was a kit made donkeys years ago, but still has a big presence at the shows.
It was based on a MK2 Escort and the kit I got had been robbed of all the Escorts bits to help restore an Escort. So, I'm rebuilding it with
Suzuki SJ parts.
My plan is for a capable off roader I can use every day and will last years. Chassis is already 18 years old and in very good condition.

i like it alot, especially using the jap gear. Keep us updated
Someone was putting a Jago body on top of a whole SJ chassis... can't remember who
ETA... wasn't it you, Coozer?

Yes it was me but I've changed me mind now, putting the zook under the Jago rather than the Jago on top of the zook
Advice - just do it!
I 'm sure even on a locost basis it will be a decent ride, the cosmetic appearance is a minor detail and can be tinkered with later when you
've finished all of the other projects
Hows that acetylene powered stove working out?

Mike, if you know anyone wants the bottles they are welcome to them. Can't even give them away these days!
They are in the way and have to go. Need to lay the chassis down flat so there's a lot of re-organisation in the garage to be done!
Just ordered tons of landy stuff off ebay, the wiff will go mad when it all arrives!
