Does anybody know where I could get replacement cv boots for my driveshafts?
The flange is the 100mm type(for interest sake do you know what this would likely make my diff from)

EBAY
we have used a universal on which doesnt require a stripdown of the shaft. Its stretches over a cone

Thanks dude,
But I dont mind stripping down the cv's, Afterall the shafts are out and I have new grease
my local motor factor had them, £3.30 each i think they were and that included grease, gaiter and straps!
looks like a custom made shaft? looks like it has been sleeved, and welded
100mm flange suggests the diff is from a sierra or possibly a scorpio - a 7-inch ford diff.
Unipart will sell boots. and CVs if you need them (which incidentally wil come with boots in the kit).
Any guessing at the ratio? the i.d plate has come off
If it helps to guess the diff ratio, it has 253mm solid rear discs from a sierra & sierra hubs so I im pretty sure the donor car was a Sierra
Most likely 3.62 or 3.92 open diff.
Mark the input flange at the top.
Turn the ouput flanges one complete turn clockwise.
Watch the input flange go round (anticlockwise) 3 and bit times... if it stops at about 25 to the hour its a 3.62, if it goes to 5 to the hour its a
3.92.
That clear?
Ahh thats a good idea! cheers dude will do that tonight!
When i brought the car i was told its an LSD.
Dont suppose you know where I could have my diff re-conditioned? Im going to be running about 300 hp & i dont want it to go pop!
Stuart Taylor (now Aries) did shortened shafts for his car.
I'm no idea what the most HP they had running through them (if they are those shafts) but i'd ask a few questions to make sure its ok with
300hp.
New shafts made to length are available from a few places.
MikeR, Do you know my car?
p.s I ment is the diff upto the job not the drive shafts
Still looking for a set of decent cv joint boots
