mk indy suspension
locostbuyer83 - 8/12/09 at 04:13 PM

Hi Guys,

I'm making a start of this car but its time to order some shocks and springs so i can wheel it about.

Did everyone get their suspension with the kit or do i order it somewhere else?

I'm guessing there are loads of different versions and specs like road cars but i'm on a budget and can always upgrade at a later date so can someone point me in the right direction and tell me what i need to order?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need shocks and springs to wheel it about, just make up some lengths of 1" box and drill holes at the appropriate places to get the car riding at he right height

Then, if you really want to get the springs right first time you will be able to use Mike Capon's spreadsheet to do so.

Pretty much as john said, shocks springs are one of the more expensive single buys and in some cases the warranty runs out before your on the road.

I found it a lot better in work practice to purchase what i actually needed to keep the build going rather than stockpile for later.

Well unless there is a fantastic price to be had on wheels seats etc Rescued attachment MK Indy build pics 026.jpg

I'm going by this guide
http://www.kitsnklassics.com/buildmanuals/Raptor_build_manual.htm

the brakes lines are done
getting the hubs and brakes together
rad is in
fuel tank is in

so I guess i need to find an engine next then

Easier and cheaper and available from B+Q just use a bit of 2X1" batten wood

Edited to add.....
Yes the shocks with springs usually come with the Indy kit?
