Rear Wheel Bearing Kit
Slater - 6/8/09 at 09:52 PM

Hi, I have ordered a n/s rear wheel bearing kit for sierra. This arrived, see 1st pic, one bearing and one oil seal.

But looking in the Haynes manual it looks like there should be two bearings (inner and outer) and two oil seals.

Is my kit missing a bearing and oil seal or am I going daft?

That looks like a 2RS ball bearing and a seal , which is wrong it should be a kit like This with 2 seals and 2 taper roller bearings.

I have changed mine today so this is the kit

it also came with 2 outer tapered spigots

Really pleased with the result for a couple of hours and £25

These were how they looked when I took them off

Just a quick point most kits come with left and right handed nuts,so the one kits fits either side.
Out of curiosity what was the price of the kit

I'm interested in the price too - was £25 for both sides or just one?

Where did you get them, Blackcab?

Slater - 7/8/09 at 08:34 AM

Blackcab, where did you get the kit from?

Slater,

That looks more like a front wheel bearing kit to me (not necissarily a Sierra one though).

Worth checking p/n with your supplier.

the part code is CD 527
its boxed as continental direct, if you need some getting let me know - but you should be able to get them near you I would have thought

QH are quoting QWB527 as the same kit so it should be easy enough to get. I am after a WB kit for my rear Scorpio hubs, £46 + drat per side is the cheapest so far. I think I'll change the hubs to Sierra ones

I have ordered the correct set from my local factors at £18. Thanks for your help.

Autoparts Warehouse will be collecting the one above along with a crappy driveshaft they supplied, I'll be getting a full refund from them. They have given me 2 wrong/faulty parts and diabolical service.

If you don't mind me asking where are you getting them from?

I done a little digging after my last post and the difference in the parts is ABS or non ABS. ABS bearings being 21mm and non ABS 18.5mm.
I am guessing I can use the 18.5mm bearings in my Scorpio hubs (same as Sierra hubs) as it is now non ABS.

Cheers
Colin
