Rose Joint adapters for Cortina uprights
supercat - 2/7/09 at 09:11 AM

Hi,

Does anyone know of a company that would sell adapters to allow me to use rose jointed top wishbones with standard cortina uprights (instead of the transit ball joint).

Cheers,
James

Could you not simply ream the hole out to a standard metric bolt size that suites a rose joint? You’ll need to do it very accurately so as not to end up with play in the bolt.

Not sure why you'd want to do that as the trackrod end will last a lot longer

Like these pins from MNR?

Or something like the ones I made for Westfield front uprights using a taper adapter with a high-tensile bolt through the middle?

I'll give MNR a ring, not sure if those are suitable for standard uprights. The westfield ones look a treat!

Hi

Just remeber to use high angle rosejoints. Std versions do not have the articulation needed. And also use decent quality joints. There's a lot of rubbish on the market these days. For a decent quality high angle joint expect to pay a Min of £50 if brought as singular items IE not in baulk.

Cheers Matt
