Sierra h/brake clips???
nick205 - 23/2/04 at 09:12 AM

Morning All,

I tried to finish off my handbrake this weekend and guess what - I have a question!

I got the clips in the picture from Ford, but I can't for the life of me see how the are supposed to secure the handbrake cable to the drum brake backplate.

Have I got the right bits?

Any info. much appreciated.

Its a bit hard to tell from the photos but having stripped my donor sierra back end today, I`d guess those go around the fittings on the end of the outer cable & push thru the back plate to click into place. I had sods own jobs dismantling mine, eventually filed out a washer to go over them to compress the clips & they popped out ok. We`re lucky in NZ that these bits tend not to rust & can be reused. The amount of tinworm you Brits have to endure is something I`m thankful to miss. Cheers Steve.

steve is right, put them round the end of the outer cable n push it into the hole, the large dia bit stops clip pushing all the way through the hole

I thought that might be the arrangement, but I couldn't seem to get it to fit. I'll give it another go with a bit more force.

Cheers guys
