I have just finished my prop, and when tidying up, I was just about to chuck the Sierra rear section of the propshaft and noticed this

Looks a possibility if the UJ is compatible to join the 2 odd halves together
What the length of the prop you've used!! is it from UJ face to face
not an offer many would accept methinks

i found that on chrisw,s prop,jus changed the uj n front bit
My new prop is 616mm between UJ centres, the sierra one is a shade longer, but not a lot
I got quite excited when I saw this but after some checking realised that seeing as my prop shaft has the rubber donut front joint, I wouldn`t have
room for a gearchange extension as I intend to fit. From my sierra manual I see that early sierras had a universa here but it would seem that by the
time sierra assembly started in NZ then they were all donuts. Does anyone know if any other fords had compatible front universal/ spline sections? Or
any other makes/ models?Mark, where did your front universal come from?

transit and the LDV are the same,escort mk 2 auto donated its prop to mine so any ford auto may fit

Mine came from a Capri, but the Cortinas also had the right joint. I should think Transits would be the most common in the scrappies

Fords shafts come in 2 different joint types 64 mm and 67 mm both measured across the flats of the bearing cups -- the two types look the same and
the cup dia is same. It is possible to hybriidise the two types and mate a 67mm yoke to a 64mm type using the 64mm kit but it is a bit err
dodgey.-- it erquires great care to get the cups properly centred. I have done it on an Escort shaft
