Hi, I'm trying to set up an anti roll bar at the rear of my car and can't figure out how to attach it to the rear wishbones. Has anyone got
any advice and preferably photos of how theyve done it?

being an MK, id speak to martin and see if he has any good advice about it - you never know, he might make rear bones with some sort of mounting point
on it.
Do you feel an antiroll bar is necessary? People in the past have implied that strong springs reduce roll anyway. I suppose that the rear springs are
softer than the front so maybe they need more assistance. Not being controversial, just wondering!
Sorry I didn't make myself clear - it's not actually for my MK, it's for a racing Westfield that we're currently setting up for
next season. We've got the anti-roll bar but we haven't figured out how to attach it to the rear 'bones yet

yeah i know but they are still wishbones?
Yeah but we think the connection will be different - at the front the bar was attached to the shock mounting points but we won't be able to do
that at the back

A common solution is to use a rosejoint SRE bearing attached to one of your existing wishbone bolts.

Guys, in Allan's HSLC book there is an extract about anti-roll bars. Allan could never tell if his front anti-roll bar made a difference on his
Terrapin whereas others swore by them. The rear was always considered a bonus - the weight is at the rear on a Terrapin. It was said that Stirling
Moss could tell the difference in the car handling if the bar diameter was increased or decreased by 1/16 of an inch.
It's all trial and error, seat of the pants stuff (unless you have documented data from other users) - one of the reasons for making the outboard
top mounts from the suspension links adjustable is to make adjustment / stiffness easy.

P.S. Thanks for the book! You have a lot to answer for. Once this Locost is finished I have to build a Terrapin with a longitudinally-mounted engine
(like the BDA-powered Gould cars) but using either 1. a 3-litre Alfa V6 or 2. the 3.2-litre V8 out of the front of a Lancia Thema 8.32.

I can't remember the company but istr that it costs about £15k. That gearbox looks new, I doubt the price includes that. It makes about 300bhp
and 170lbft of torque from 2l. It's a little bit sexier than a tuned zetec
Now someone just needs to bolt a turbo to it

Seriously, Eddie has identified the only real route to do this unless you have cash to burn.
The beauty of the Terrapin race is the chassis and suspension are relatively easy to construct and costs are low.
So you can concentrate on your power plant and drivetrain. If you fit a super motor then MG Vented discs all round is an easy route to stopping on a
sixpence.

It must be an Eagle - that looks like Dan Gurney standing behind the car. Top bloke, great engineer and driver.
