Self centering with quickracks
james h - 10/2/09 at 05:45 PM

How are quickracks for self centering? My guess is that it won't make much/any difference, but I just want to check before I fit one for SVA.

Thanks

James

Self centering is down to the geometry of your suspension, the ratio of rack won't make any difference.

However, new racks tends to have a bit more internal friction than old worn ones, so if your centering is marginal a new, tight rack (of any ratio) could be enough to cause problems.

Totaly agree with the above statement, new parts will tend to be tighter

I fitted a 2.4 quick rack and did not notice any difference in self centring.

I might risk fitting a quickrack before SVA then, should only be a quick swap back if it doesn't work! Thanks for your advice
