Can retained driveshafts be run floating?
cloudy - 15/11/08 at 11:37 PM

I'm having trouble building a top hat grease cover for my chain diff, as I need enough access to remove the internal circlips to get the driveshafts out. But I can't take the side plates off the chain diff to slide a top hat off without taking the driveshafts out! So it's very chicken and egg!

Obviously the sierra push in shafts are not retained, do they use sprung CV's?

Can I run without the retaining circlips and let the shafts float?

James
