Just rechecked the sva manual: either an audible or visual tell tale is required.
If visual, should be within the view of the driver

Just get a small buzzer; couple fo quid tops; from Maplins or similar. Mounted in series as it's easy not to see the warning lights and adding a little noise is a helper.

If you have a visual tell tale then an auldable one not required.

Do yourself a favour and download a copy of the sva manual.
It took me all of 30 seconds to find the answer......something you could have done and probably quicker than getting the wrong answer from other people who are just guessing!

I can't remember where I got mine as I did a search on google about 18 months ago and I found it quite quickly.
I am sure if you put a post asking for the same, then someone else might have the actual link.

Is that the latest version, as applies to us/kit builders? I know they have regular updates, but haven't heard about anything special.

It has not changed much. Go to the vosa website for a few minor updates.

Ref indicator warnings - you do not need an audible warning of any kind, just a flashing light.
