SVA fail at Brum
Emissions (ECU isn't out of learning mode yet so hopefully a few more runs should sort it)
Rear brakes (must still have trapped air as calipers upside down - will have to invert them more and shake the buggers - handbrake was fine)
Bias bar lock pin (took the stuff but couldn't do it due to rears)
Couple of minor trim items under the dash
Speedo magnets need respoitioning at the input flange of the diff (on propshaft at the moment and clearly fouled the sensor on the drive over as had
all been knocked out of position)
Retest booked for 18th April! Almost froze to death on the drive over but BLOODY HELL WHAT A HUGE GRIN I HAD IN THE RUSH-HOUR TRAFFIC!!!!
David the tester at Brum is a superstar - Couldn't ask to meet a nicer bloke - Took loads of time to explain and discuss stuff and you could
tell that he genuinely wanted to pass it.
Right - Couple of piccies coming next (hopefully) - Then I'm off for a drink and a sit down as I'm knucking fackered...
p.s. He was fine with the one seat (don't ask) but did say that if the mountings were visible and available then strictly speaking they would
expect to see everything fitted the seat...

Nice looking car there... shame it failed.
Any chance of a picture of the front suspension? Just wondering how much 'cover' bits you have on there as he passed the front.
Cheers,
Steve

thanks - As for the front trim the answer is not much and he didn't seem to care for anything behind the indicator (I hadn't even finished
doing the small rubber U trim)...

Superb looking car mate. I trust you will be passed & bringing it to stoneleigh.?
Is it a Cosworth V6?

In the words of Churchill, "...ohhhh yesss!"
John, Tegwin et al - Many thanks for your kind words - You can go a bit stir crazy in a 18' x 9' garage and it's only when you get
it out in the sun (fog) that you can see if all the bits make a car...

I'd say congrats. As long as the emissions sort themselves out the rest of the problems appear pretty easy so here's to the SVA pass in a
few weeks

A couple in the photo archive and I'll get some more put in over the weekend.
The simple answer is tight (even in a Viento) if you are looking to get the negibe back as far as possible - It's a 60deg V so the heads come
out quite a way and the bottom of the sump will easily go down 2-3" below the bottom rail assuming that your prop starts towards the top of the
tunnel section. Therefore, where you put the triangulation pieces from the top side rail back to the bulkhead will be crucial. U2U "FUB"
who has cut out a section of the Viento chassis to move the engine ever further back than mine...

How did you prove the age of the engine?
Letter from ford?
I`m using a boa myself as well.
Thanks

Donor was listed as 91 granny on form. He said, "It's a '91 then?" to which I replied, "Yes" and that was
that!...
