SVA retest retest....
.... 6 mths runs out on 4 mar
just managed to book RR sesh for 9:30 Fri and retest for 3 pm; once I have the paper, I can take that up to the SVA centre for my MAC.
fingers crossed it all goes to plan ......
(cost wise probably be same as the full test but the RR has one roller for rear wheels so should be no issued with diff action, I hopes..... )

The single roller for the rolling road shouldn't really give any diff action like you say, the main reason you get diff action on twin rollers
is the car is always trying to ride out of the rollers, causing loss of traction.

^^^^ I know; on the road the speedo gave what I think are reasonable readings; e.g. when approcahing speed camera, traffic in front slows down to 30
and I could see that on the speedo so am confident it is working.
(will have a go pacing another car hopefully on thurs pm).

"Jack the rear wheels in the air, run the car for 2 minutes @ 30mph on the speedo and see if its clocked up exactly 1 mile" stupid, smack
on the back of the head, just proves that the speedo is accurate to the odo.
What I should have said is get on a dual carriageway, they have mile markers so drive @ 60mph, as you pass one start the stop watch, as you pass the
next stop the clock, it should read 60 seconds.
Jobs a good un.
Pace cars are a waste of time, its all about miles covered in a set period of time.

Round my way there are so many speed cameras that the drivers are excellent at driving through the camera at exactly the max speed without setting off
the camera.... A quick trip down the road dials-in the speedo!!!!

If you've got a decent sat nav system, it'll give you an accurate ground speed . Amazing stuff when you think about it. Who would have
believed you back in the 70's if you said that you would be able to do such a thing.
"just like that !"

We set up the speedo using the instructions and then tested it using GPS Satnav (shows speed). HTH

getting close; got the print out from the dyno so it should be a done thing .... waiting now for 1 pm so can set off to SVA test centre.
(didn't need to reprogram the speedo at all - reads about 1-2 mph more than road speed; really annoying having to fork out more dosh and spend
time proving something ws working correctly though .... :mad
(wait for the what do I do next post ...... )

My fingers are crossed for you. I hope it all goes very well.
Get a pic of the car at the station for prosperity. Dont forget to scan that MAC that you are about to recieve.
