YAY GOT my SVA DATE :D :D :D Take 2!!

I've got 13th July at Nottingham , after declining 3rd July due to sodding work commitments.
So in a similar vein to Muzchaps earlier post. PANIC!!!!!

My list is mainly....
1. Get the speedo working
2. Get a cover made for the boot area
3. Get some 'kin mirrors that work
4. Cover the car in bits of rubber and stuff to pass the test.

And I ain't got much free time to do it!, wish me luck

Colin

Good luck, though you might want to call the AA to make sure they will pick up unregistered cars, people have had trouble before due to the small print.

but those mirrors I had on at the shrewsbury sva and he had a hay day with all the radiuses round the bolts that go into the scuttle and the edge around the mirror aswell

do you want to borrow my CBR fireblade mirrors ??

Hi, out of interest when did you submit your build declarations? We sent ours today and have asked for 13th July at Nottingham in our test application.

Just wondered what sort of lead-times they were working to.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi guys,
Iank , I was mainly joking about the AA, but thanks for the concern, i'm hoping a mate will follow me with a tow rope!

Chris, very kind offer. I've actually got some old scratched up Blade mirrors off the bike, but as per my other posts. I'm strugling to see how the'yll give the nessesary vision without blocks of wood and i'm very frightened about drilling my scuttle wrong
Perhaps I just need to get some help?

Asn163 the dvla had my declaration for over a week before the SVA centre contacted me yesterday. I could have got it sooner , but it aint finished yet eeek!"

mirror fitting

Colin - just u2u'd you on another post, but thought this might be of use to others.

Tryna get mirrors position correctly - without drilling 100's of holes to get it right.

I taped over the scuttle (obviously) and then with the mirror in place - used metal putty to fill the gap between the scuttle and the mirror base.

It goes off nice and quick (I originally used rtv, but that didn't go off in the thick area)

I've now got "fitted" wedges, that I plan to use as a template to form final wooden ones.
