Zetec Engine Number

Can anyone advise. Finally got around to trying to find the engine number so that I could contact ford. Cleaned the paint off the area close to the Crank sensor as Posted. and no number -Gulp. also no V5, have I any other options to be able to age the engine for Mr SVA to be happy,there is a label on the timing belt cover (EL LH) any advise very welcome

ahem...........trip to scrapyard to find an engine number in a car doomed for the crusher... then machine mart to buy......
Clarke Letter & Number Punch Sets

think Ford use fairly large lettering 8mm or 9mm (measure it at the scrapyard) and it's never stamped straight always a little wonky

work the rest out............

i have a 92 1.8 zetec - i found the engine number further to the left of the crank sensor, running in line with the engine (left to right) rather than perpendicular or in line with the fly wheel. camera is out of action currently, but will take a piccy when i can. thought it may help.
