A few pictures of the Locost ready for the collective's comments.
I've tried to cover all Mr IVA's requiremets but according to the man at DVLA, "they do like their retest fees", so
we'll see.

It appears to me that your cat has come adrift,...
LOL
sorry just had to get that in whilst I could. The only thing I noticed was the bottom of the seatbelt bolts, on the roll bar, the top has a cap, the
bottoms seem not to.

Yep, that was the cat just before he got in big KaKa with the missus for munchin' a birdie! Boy is he in the doghouse! (or cathouse)
I didn't bother with the bottom of the bolts for the upper harness mounts as I didn't think they could be checked with 'the
ball' as they are too close to the boot?

Might be worth covering up the base of your rear view mirror, where the adjuster nut is

Fair play with the back panel. It's pretty thin ally (it was Locost after all!) and unfortunately it's copped most of the dropped, fallen
bits too. I'm afraid I haven't got the cash to buy all the good stuff like these folk with several kit cars. I just used what I had and
pretty much everything I could do I built from scratch. When I've done a few miles and get some spare dosh I'm going to replace it anyhow.
But thanks for making me feel even worse

Looks OK.
Are the repeaters on the front cycle wings big enough?

@designer. I hope they're big enough cos I haven't got anymore!
jacko, thanks for the comments. The car is actually yellow and suzuki metallic purple, but it's really difficult to get it to show in the
picture. Looks nicer (in my opinion) in the flesh
ashg, don't worry mate. I'm never going to be happy with the car finish anyhow, I'm always trying to get 'perfection'.
But I'm relatively pleased for my first ever paint job

In the pic pre IVA 3 there appears to be no cover on the starter motor main terminal which is an IVA fail

Also, do the front arches definitely satisfy the requirements?
They are meant to finish no higher that 4" above the centre line of the wheel I *think* and it looks close
EDIT: the height I refer to above is at the rear of the cycle wings not the front, IIRC it needs to be 30 degrees forward of vertical which is
relatively easy to achieve.
I'm not picking holes just trying to save you a retest fee

Looking good & looks like you’ve got it about covered but I would agree with Scott & look carefully at the rear of your mudguards & I
don’t know but are the exposed ends of the cable ties OK on the roll bar. Good luck.

Thanks guys! Had no idea about the cover for the starter motor so best get that sorted then. As for the wings I'll have to have a look in the
morning. If they are too high is it OK to fit some heavy duty mudflap type material to extend them?
As for the tie-wraps, I've melted the ends over once cut off so they are pretty smooth so hope they are OK, plus I made sure they are on the
underside.
This is why it's wise to put the pre-IVA piccies up on here! I got a voicemail from VOSA at 16:45 tonight when I was out and they want to take
my money so they must be happy with the application. Just need to wait for a date from the test centre now
JB
Edit: Couldn't have slept thinking about that one (daft, I know) so been out to check:
The book quotes: 30deg forward of the vertical, 50 deg rearward of the vertical and the rear no higher than 150mm (6" ) from the horizontal
centre line.
Put a spirit level across the centre line, and I reckon about 75deg to the rear, 55 to the front and 110mm above the centreline at the rear (good eye
Stott! , I would have been 10mm over for 4" )
So I'm fine, just need to sort a cover for the starter cables.

Fairly sure mudflaps would sort it, I have thought about fitting some myself just to protect the arm a bit, Also can you touch the top of your
mudguard says with the dome of doom if so is the radius OK.

Edited above post, I'm OK on the cycle wing front ('scuse the pun ).
As far as the stays go, I did wonder about them so I made a small 'checking tool' out of ally, just drilled a 6mm hole in it and cut it to
leave a 120deg bit to check radiuses. Checked the stays and they seem OK. I guess I'll find out in the next couple of weeks if the waiting list
is still what they said?
Update:
Rang VOSA this morning to give them my payment, and apparently they do not even process the application until the fee has been paid! I thought they
checked the form then took payment once they were happy it was the M1 I needed?
Now got to wait for either a phone call from them if there is a problem with the application or a letter from Bristol with an appointment if
it's OK! It's the not knowing that's a pain
