Broken Windscreen & MOT

Hi,

I have a severely cracked windscreen currently which is currently due to undergo repair. Will it be a problem getting a new MOT?

It should be noted this is all on the passengers side and does not impeed my vision (but then again anything over 20mph in a type 7 everything is all blurry anyway....)

Cheers, Matt

Take the screen off ?
its only 4 bolts on my 7 to do so

Also, i believe if there is any crack chip with in the windscreen wipe, that is a fail

40mm is the limit (outside the drivers vision) - and 10mm within.

40mm within the swept area of the wipers isn't it?

I guess this would have failed then

broken
broken

But seriously, if you consider it severely cracked, so would an MOT tester and refuse you a ticket, you could always pop it in and ask the tester before the test.

That will fail the MOT without a doubt. Might want to re-size that pic however.

i would not even want to drive the car in that condition, as any small contact and the screen will be in a million pieces

And in your face

Removed the windscreen today and MOT due on Friday. It's going to fail due to the horn not working but with lack of time i am letting the garage doing the MOT fix the horn - Visa time...
