SIDE REPEATERS on wheel arch
went to pick up my lights and bodywork for my aries locoblade and steve said to wait for the side repeaters that fit on the front arches for a couple
of weeks as he says the iva might change and make these fail the test all to do with the 5 degree rule as when you turn your wheels the lights may no
longer be visable .dont know if this will happen but be careful.

I wish the goalposts would stay in one position for more than 2 minutes.
I don't understand why they won't accept two sets of side position indicators. On a 7, if we cant put them on the front wings and
can't put them on the scuttle, where the hell CAN we put them ?
I'm addicted to brake fluid, but I can stop anytime.

I am fed up with all the little changes. Only place left on a 7 will be the back arches then. I put mine there any way as there easier to wire.

But my back arches are too far from the front of the car ( 2m something )
Note 5: A side repeater lamp must be fitted within 2600 mm of the front of the vehicle

I,ve just checked the IVA manual ( for M1 class vehicle ) & it states that the side repeater must be fitted within 2600mm from the front of the
vehicle,
so, I,m fitting mine on the rear arches. ( A Haynes Roadster recently passed IVA with the side repeaters in this position).

steve reckons that the only place to put them would be beneath the scuttle on stalks that are long enough to be seen from front and rear but would
look like s**t.just remove after the iva though.

Not sure what the length of your car is.....
but, can you not fit the repeaters at the forward part of the rear arch? as long as the repeater is a minimum of 350mm from the ground & within
2600mm from the front then IMO it should pass the test ok, well, thats what I,m going for

Stuff that I am going back to two wheels.
Mine are in the rear arches and are JUST within the 2600mm or what ever it is. Ive already had to put gromets in the scuttle to fill the holes for the
last repeaters. 
Ive only just changed my seat belts for the third time to keep up with the last revision before xmas of no longer allowing three point static belts.
That was another £100 job

Well i've just put mine in the front arches !!!! fingers crossed.
I've spent more time trying to satisfy ridiculous IVA bull than I have putting the car together, I agree with the test as it keeps some dodgey
kits off the road but i wish they could apply a bit of common sense.
Listen to me government agency and common sense get real !!!!!
Keep ploughing through the BS fellow IVA ers

I also had static belts and have had to buy new ones

Maybe that's why they are called 'repeaters' Warren? 
Mine are on the front of the rear arches - and they are 2350 mm from the front edge at that point. I didn't think these cars varied enough in
dimensions to the extent where rear wheel arches fall outside the 2.6 metre point?

Yep ive got the same repeaters, position is just a bit higher making them just a little further back.

Hi
I suppose the way forward is to incorporate the repeater into the 'wing' mirror surrounds - shouldn't be too hard with the advent of
LED flashers. Or is there a reason this would fail?

This is getting bl**dy ridiculous!
I've also put mine in the front wings just last week! I hope someone on here has an IVA before I'm ready, to see how they get on, I guess
I better be prepared to move mine to the rear arches and do some filling on the front

Mine are on the rear wings.
At IVA the first thing the tester said was oh good you read the manual.
He measured them later in the test though for the distance from the front, but i am sure he put a metal bar across front of front tyres and measured
back but can not be 100% sure as i was removing boot cover for inspection in that area.

I went through IVA with the side reapeaters in the front headlights..
I think I posted a link on here before...
you can buy them now from SVC I believe

Im loving the repeaters in the headlight bowls idea, its spot on

If you have already fitted them up front, can you not just leave them and add the extra ones on the rear arch or is that breaking another rule?

some of the rules / regs make no sense to me.
Surely mounting them on the rear arch makes them less visible. Especially at junctions?
