IVA pass today

...at Birmingham.
No probs with the 5 items on the retest list. Went to Worcester DVLA on the off-chance they could do the inspection and got lucky.
What a relief.
Hopefully should have documents in 3 days!

Out of interest, what was your final cost for your "By the book" Build?

Great news. Hope you have a load of fun with the new toy.

Kindest Regards,

Oh dear ... the cost!!!

How do you calculate it?
I have about £2600 of receipted parts, products, specialist tools etc.
On top of that you have to add sundry small items that I forgot to record.
Take off that total a number of quite expensive items that I bought but did not end up using (and may be able to sell).
Then add on £540 for IVA + retest, £180 for DVLA registration and 12 months tax, £100 for 12 months insurance ....
My guestimate is £3700
... I could have had a brilliant holiday for that!

It was worth it though!

Wait till you've had a few good days out in it. It'll seem cheap.

Value for money

I suppose it has a value that is far in excess of the money spent on it - I've learnt new skills and done sometihing creative that has kept me interested for more than 3 years (so far). And it is cool to drive the car you built.
Yeah - I'd do it again.
