failed iva today but not too bad !!!

well it failed, was up at 5 and got the car off the trailer an ready for 830 would reccomend usin notts as they were really helpful

it failed on

the seats were mounted too high from the floor, been paralysed and in a wheelchair it is hard work gettin in and out of the car so havin the seat about 3 inches from the floor makes it lot easier for me, it failed because the base of the seat and the measurement to the seat belt mount was too close by 5cm, lucky my dad has an mk and we will be usin them

mk stamped me a a vin on a piece of metal and i welded it on, they say that there is a spacin to big between the numbers so needs redoin.

the front lights on the mk which i got from them he said they were too low they need lots of washer or a spacer to lift them up. the lense has to be over the front arch in height

need some mesh between the nose cone and the side panel as his little tool went in the gap.

The rear tub on the mk the bottom line on the fibreglass back panel is not radius so he suggested stickin on some rear arch rubber.

The front arch rubber needs stickin on with glue,

The key switch needs fubber stickin on it yes the key switch as its in the centre console.

passsed the noise test emssions brakes lights so dont think its too bad. speedo was spot on aswell

booked it in for next tuesday so got few bits to do

Thats a very good fail indeed!

most of the fail points werent really your fault either cant believe they require the bottom edge of the rear tub to be covered ott!

also..

Dont really understand the mesh between the nosecone and sidepanel can you elaborate?

if your registered disabled and say the seat is a disabled adaptation then they cant fail it as far as i am aware.

i have an indy r so the front nose cone and side panel have a different gap i think.

when i have done it will post a pic so you can see but where the a arms go the side panel only comes so far down then there is a slight gap then the nose cone.

the clock were fine no issues, to fill your all in i had gsxr 1000 clock that needed radius, i melted some thin plastic in the oven pushed it on the clocks whilst it was red hot and all floppy it hardened in 10 secs and was moulded round the clocks bit of sealant all the way round jobs a good one,

i had no had controls on it and it only has a auto clutch and button for the gears and they would prob only do the drivers but they said that it was for if you crashed it would crush your spine, dont want to do that again !!!!

i think i might put a list of things that peolpe on here things i have picked upand help from mk have helped to get it through to help others for example the sticker needed on the brake master cylinder show what fluid to use also for the vin plate you can use a sticker and dont have to stamp it on

What was wrong with the vin spacing? I've got a plate welded on too but also have a sticker with the vin on.

nemesis v12 you will be ok its not how high the seat is its where the seat belt mounts are you are quite high on an indy they go back down the rear of the seat about 4 inches.

basically with the spacin there was a slight space to pu another number in bit piccy but that how it is.

this is the pic of the bottom of the back panel that needs a raduis on it
