Success!

Postie delivered the tax disc and plate permit this morning, so straight into Barnstaple for the plates.
Went out for a shakedown - brilliant!

Ignition is a bit off and consequently slight overheating.
Unfortunately I then put a hole in the auto-box pan, by misjudging a gate-retaining tube in the driveway.

I just clipped the leading edge of the pan on the sticky-uppy pipe/tube that holds the gate closed - and dumped 3 litres of ATF on the floor! Two inches to the right and I'd have missed it!

Having pondered the matter, I'm going to do it properly and remove the pan to weld up the split. It's only about 1/2 inch but I won't be completely happy if I try to do it in situ.
