Pre-SVA Photos
Firstly, a big thank you to Dave and Alex for popping over today to find all of the obvious mistakes I had left for them to find... A great deal of
help, and support, and a blat in Alex's Dax up one of my favourite roads. A great day....
I have a list of around 10-15 points they picked me up on to add to the list I already had!
Jobs I know of off the top of my head are:
- Raise front suspension by 10mm for headlight height
- Cover shocks spring adjuster
- Check tracking and cable tie cover
- Trim on leading edge of side panel near suspension
- Trim/silicone around edges of back panel on top side
- Trim/silicone around edges of wing protectors
- Tidy a bit of engine bay wiring
- Spiral wrap around front brake flexis
- A whole load of others I can't think of now, most serious of which is emisisons setup (booked in for next Friday at local garage)
Now, the obligatory photos (apologies for the number of photos!)....

Really clean, lovely looking build you should be proud to present that at SVA. The only one bit I can spot but will be debatable is the harness upper
mount heights. They look a bit low but you never know.

Oh yes and the front spring platform adjusters, some SVA tests need them covering if they can get the sphere in.

Thanks guys - It means a lot to me...
With me in the harness, the harness sits perfectly in the cut out. I haven't done the special block test thingy that Mr SVA does, but I have
done it by eye with the tape measure, and it seemed ok. If it is too low, I'll bung some more washers in there (the eye bolts have loads of
spare thread on them).

just a small question.
can i see two small holes in the upper wishbone? (third piccy)
if so I may be inclined to question the tubes structural strength?

This is how I received them (part built)... I guess its for attaching wiring to for wing mounted lights. I guess I could weld up the holes...?
Would I be right in assuming they are also at the point of the least bending stress, as the top and bottom of the tube would take the
tension/compression?

It does, but I don't think he'll mind if I say it still needs some further tuning - particularly at full load and low revs. It has plenty
more to come I'm sure...!
It was great to go out for a drive with him - both him and Dave are legends!

Nice work and a good number of piccys 
I would also be a bit worried about the height of the seat belt mounts but as you say, an easy fix with a few washers if Mr SVA doesnt mine.

looks like you have a split rubber boot on one of the steering ball joints
and will second covering up the spring adjuster nuts
looking good

jobs off the top of your head,!!!!!! with made a giant list!
and your right, my car is still in the early stages of tuning and it still goes like stink! WATCH THIS SPACE!

i spotted the split rubber on the lower ball joint, apparenetly 'there supposed to be like that'
Tim have you noticed that no-one has said anything about the fog light or the radius on the dash?

The headlights at different heights is becuase our driveway looks like it was laid by very drunk pikeys. It has a major slope to it....!
The TRE are brand new, and appear ot have four small splits, equally spaced around the boot. I can only assume they are supposed to be there.
Alex, I know we made a giant list - I was just being too lazy to walk to the garage to get it (I did cut the worlds largest garden with a push along
mower after all...!!!
It might go like stink, but it won't be as quick as mine!
As for the fog light, I can taste that pint already! Thanks for the comments chaps - keep 'em coming!

Next question then, where is the quickest and fastest place to get new TREs?

I've just been out for another look at these TREs. It seems on one side, it is perfect, no splits. The other side, has 4 evenly spaced splits in
the rubber. I cant beleive I have never notced the difference!
As such, does anyone have an Escort TRE kicking about in exchange for beer tokens?

Well impressed.
Front brake flexy pipe.
Is it plastic coated?
If not, may wat to chuck some spiral wrap on it.
Picked up on that at my SVA.

The not looking level thing is my dodgy driveway - it has some major lean on it (see previous post about drunk pikeys!).
Spiral wrap of brake lines is on the joblist.
