c20xe engine age NOW WITH PICTURE!!
Is it possible to use the date cast in the block (just below the engine mount) as proof of when the engine was made with ref to the 1995 cut off date
for the emission test
I have this date cast in the block under the nearside engine mount

I've just had a look at three of mine and can't see any markings below the engine mounts, as a rough guide i go by the numbers below
number three core plug they should begin with HH or HG.
Must try harder

I think you need a proof of age letter from Vauxhall if you haven't got a registration document for the donor vehicle. Cost £80 I'm
affraid.

No.
Try and get a letter from Vx - fail, then use their very helpful website with lots of clip art - get good with word... and there you have it....
Helps if you have one to copy....
