they sent him a free AOL router and gave him lower price, faster connection!
Just about any router will work with AOL, few don't because the user name and password fields aren't long enough.

You can get it working with AOHELL, it's just more tricky. Got Dad's working eventually but as someone's pointed out, it did require
a secondary username and password being created to work correctly.
I'll try and remember exactly what I did do to get it working and I'll drop you a line.

Still think you would be better off with a better router...
The router has no USB ports, it's a straight forward ADSL router with a built in G+MIMO access point and a switch 4 Ethernet ports. You might
be getting confused with the USB wireless adapter they supply with the outer?
That said, it's not a very good router as mine requires an almost daily reboot, and one of our laptops will quite often fail to connect to it
unless my main PC is on. The major plus point is wireless range which is excellent compared to my previous Linksys and Netgear routers (both fried
during lightning, surge suppressors don't work if you have a nearby strike...).

I've got the same Belkin router and it works great - never needed to reboot it.

I was struggling to see any reference to ethernet ports or a switch on the specs for this router that I could find on the 'net. I have seen
some wireless routers that didn't have a built in 4 port switch and I thought it might be one of those.
