Are these switch's ok for SVA if it open view (ie not behind steering wheel)
Rescued attachment Ignition_switch_off_small.JPG
i don't the cover will meed the radiussing requirement.
arent the covers on those removeable?
If so cant you just add them post SVA?
then there shudnt be a problem unless ofcorse the switches them selfs arnt radiused enough like said?
Plain toggle switches will fail. The covers don't really change much as their edges also fail radius testing.....
Sorry
Best option is either to try and use a cheap and nasty SVA friendly switch until after SVA or even make up a minimalist dash with the bare minimum of
dials and SVA friendly switches and then change it immediately afterwards....
^^^ hes, the toggles would fail too if the caps are removed.
... but by placing the swtich in the steering wheel exempt zone you can fit wahtever spikey things you want. -
The bare toggle switches will pass IF you fit the small waterproof covers on them.
These are like black condoms with a metal, threaded insert on the base. They fit over the toggle and screw onto the exposed thread at the base.
I fitted bare toggle switches with the aircraft style covers but placed them within the exempt area - it was quite a big exempt area because I kept
the original Sierra steering wheel for SVA
Thanks guys, I'll get a waterproof cover for it then as I don't want it behind the steering wheel .....
