ok, another dash radius question.

is it acceptable to cut out a corner of the lower front edge of the dash (on left) then fit in ribber strip in the recess (right)?

This means the front lower edge cannot be felt but does the underside need to be padded?

I'm not sure but I don't think SVA man would let that pass. I think they'd want to see the underside radiused or padded to make it "safe" ......Oli.

The simple fix is to wrap it in sponge and then cover in vinyl - if it's a padded surface, then the radius only needs to be 5mm rather than 19mm.

This makes it much easier to rectify at a later date.

I used some split breather hose glued on the bottom of mine - nice big radius and soft enough not to need it, so should pass on both counts.

Its also dead easy to fit, but has to be well stuck on to be classed as permanent.

Don't think the foam will pass. It will be too soft. I originaly used pipe lagging covered in carpet secured onto the dash but SVA man wasn't happy because it was too soft! (no pleasing them sometimes!) It has to be like a pencil eraser I was told....Oli.

The SVA manula states minnimum softness, but not a maximum - bit dodgy that one!

How about neoprene? That should be about right (plus it'll keep your dash warm in the rain )
