FIA Battery Switch

Just coming to fit my FIA kill switch and had originally propsed to fit it on the engine side of the scuttle for SVA reasons, but I reckon it will fit within the 127mm radius from the wheel no problem.

Will this count as an SVA security measure? The key can be removed so I dont see why not.

Am I right in thinking it needs to be 2 measures, ie steering lock and another?

Thanks for any advice, fitting it on the dash now would mean I dont have to relocate it at a later date.

If you have a steering lock you prob have the other already, the key operated ignition switch! They make up the two devices, you don't need more.

Any security devices must be not able to be activated when the engine is running from the drivers seat. i think the FIA keys meet the SVA radius regulations even if you mount them on the passenger side of the dash dont they?

Ill give it a closer look cos I assumed the key would be too sharp.

Yeh I thought the ignition counted. Im more wanting to fit the isolator for two reasons really 1) to completely disconnect the battery when its sitting in the garage and 2) saves me fitting it later when I come to do some sprints and hillclimbs.

If its at all dubious with the nice folks at SVA, Ill leave it til afterwards which will give carte blanche to put it where I like (even on the outside of drivers side scuttle).

Description

My solution to an external fia switch, encase it in resin and the immobiliser transponder. A bare one will not pass sva !
You can have the fia switch within 127mm of the outer radius of your steering wheel.
Also you should have two security devices. One can be mechanical, so a normal steering lock/ign switch will pass.
