My central tunnel houses everything that needs to go 'north to south' so it is pretty crowded. There are the main rad & heater pipes
(which are heavily lagged), gear change & handbrake cables and two sections of loom (ecu + lights)
Would it be ok to strap it all up in a nice neat bundle, then fix the bundle to the floor or do I HAVE to fix brakelines, loom etc separately to
satisfy Mr SVA?
I ran the fuel line one side along the bottom of the tunnel and the brake line the other, the electrics ran in a top corner.
The reason i split them was for ease of repair or addition, SVA man sid it neat which seemed to please so it was a lucky move.
I ran a couple of additional wires too just incase i need to add anything later.
I would at least fix the brake paipes away on their own. Mr SVA did not look in the tunnel of my last car so i'm hoping he won't look in
this one.
If it were me i would seperate them all out as much as poss....but that's me!
I would really like to run them separately but even getting a drill in there (for P clips) is very difficult. I suppose a flexible drill shaft thingy
or maybe a Dremel could do it. The brake and clutch lines are braided Goodrich jobbies anyway so chafing is not an issue and tbh it just looks neater
in one big bundle.
If the inspector can't see it, he can't test it either can he. Should I just make the tunnel 'permanently' sealed?
They can really only see the wires and pipes on entry and exit so yes its probably not going to be a problem at SVA.
Thats what I was hoping - here is a 'work in progress' pic to give you an idea.
The loom in the foreground is still being made, the black one in the background is finished. The brake & clutch lines are running on the bottom
rail.
