Well done, cya next meeting or B4!

indykid - 14/6/05 at 06:53 PM

my dash looks funny now though

and this was how it was suggested i fix it!

i tells ya

£3.50 of draught excluder from focus, oh and the £30 retest fee - bleedin scanandalous, to say it took him 5 mins

sandwich shop round the corner makes the best hot sandwiches in yorkshire though. it masquerades as a paper shop, but it's not to be missed.

it's not registered yet as the woman dealing with it at leeds isn't back til tomorrow (she's been on her holidays) and we were too late to get back to them having dropped the trailer back anyway.
it will be first thing in the morning though!

we actually dropped the car off in halfords car park and i drove it up to the garage from there. it's bleeding hilarious with no glasses, no screen, no nowt. no vision isn't quite so fun, but hell, it'll do for me

and yes, if you could get that trackday form to me, it'd be great. could do with a chance to test the limits of the beastie!

colibriman, i agree totally!

nah, it's g reg, so it'll probably be G1?1 ARY, or some other name, none of which will be mine.

at least it'll be cheaper to change my name than get a personalised plate!

MkIndy7 - 14/6/05 at 07:28 PM

Trailer, what was the Trailer for Wuss, don't ya like having ya head blown off and being inches from Truck wheel nuts whirring round

Naah I didn't either so I let me dad drive

How comes yours is so heavy? 900Kg am sure ours was nearer 700Kg

indykid - 14/6/05 at 07:36 PM

that's axle weights added together, it's not the actual weight of the car.

it's straight off mk's paperwork

i would have driven it, but it's not tracked up yet, and i thought a trip on the m62 might not do my r888's any good. also, i'd quite like a helmet for motorway driving, which due to my heanously large head is hard to find since the outlaw went back, and i just didn't have time to go shopping!

it might have helped us get there a bit faster though! i thought it was very good of them to test us at all, given that we'd arrived at 9:10 for an 8 am appointment, but when the m1/62 turns into a 3lane car park, what can you do? remember, always add an hour to however much time you think you'll need to get there. it would have saved me the retest fee afaik, but hey, its a small price to pay for a MAC.

andyps - 14/6/05 at 08:11 PM

Well done Tom.

Look forward to having a ride in it at the meeting next month - unless you feel like lending it to me so I can run it in for you on my trip to LeMans tomorrow

vintagebuilder - 14/6/05 at 08:12 PM

Well done Tom. You know I'll be pestering you more than ever for help and advice.

Just make sure you reverse a lot Tom!!

indykid - 14/6/05 at 08:32 PM

it's only the limited miles that'd stop me lending it to take to le mans andy, you know i want to really.

it'd look better at newark though i think.

se y'all at the mk barbie. get some on for me lads
tom

Mark Allanson - 14/6/05 at 09:11 PM

1500 miles seems a bit clip, I have 4500 for £150

Avoneer - 14/6/05 at 10:24 PM

Just unplug your speedo - no worries on the mielage then.

Tom - are we convoying to Newark then? Hopefully will be me, Carl, Rob and yourself - we'll go slow so you can keep up, your car being a 400cc short of a real engine

Saturday weather look good.

Looks like my mirrors, wheel and minor help got another car through SVA!

Pat...

MkIndy7 - 14/6/05 at 10:46 PM

Keep us posted bout the convoy, might be managing to make an apperance weather permitting etc.

alister667 - 15/6/05 at 03:00 AM

Well done sir.
Best of health to enjoy her!

400cc shortgrrrrrrrr, but at lest mine's not full of wasted weight with trim and stuff

convoy sounds reasonable, although i guess i'll be at the back, which is fine, as long as you're not leading the way we'll probably end up m62 bound on the m18 again

anyway, thanks again for the bits, as i don't know how anyone'd've got in the thing with the sierra wheel on.
he was a bit dubious about the size of the mirrors, but he passed them anyway.
permanent or switched horn was by the by, as at no point during either mot or sva have i been asked to test my horn, nor has it been tested. sidelights and hazrds are deffo permanent. he made me take the keys out to check!

now then, auxillary speedo for saturday eh

tom

NS Dev - 21/6/05 at 02:58 PM

well done that man!!

on the heanously large head front, I have the same problem, and you'll find that the biggest Sparco jobbies are a touch bigger than anybody elses........that's what I have!!

indykid - 22/6/05 at 12:48 PM

on friday, as a needs must sort of think the day before going to newark, i bought a takachi tk-130x, in xxl, that fits really well. it's acu gold star approved, so i'd say it puts it in a better position of certification than the outlaw, and it was a third of the price!

it's patterned, silver yellow and black, not the plain black i wanted, but it makes motorway driving much more pallateable.

thanks for the suggestion though.
