My build is nearly complete, and will be registered as a radically modified vehicle.
I have filled the forms in once previously and was told by the DVLA the car needs to be MOT'd to be registered.
I've since been told that this is a mistake, and that it doesn't.
Does anyone know for sure?

Yes, I've calculated there are enough original parts inc chassis to keep the original reg.
I would suggest it is MoT first then, as its doesnt require an IVA.
So that's an "original chassis, monocoque body or frame" is it?

I'd have to agree that that doesn't remotely look like an unmodified chassis. You literally have a new tubular chassis there, with a floor pan attached.

You need to think before hand, do I really need to deal with the DVLA?? and avoid them at all costs unless absolutely essential.
With that car, you should have fitted the frame first with the original engine, got the colour changed and MOT'd. Then fitted the new engine and
got the garage to confirm the CC change for the tax class. However it should be road tax free as the last super was 1975. Plus before converting it
you could have applied for historic vehicle class as a bugs over the 40 years so MOT requirement, then all you'd have had to pay for each year is
the insurance.
