Some photos from the IVA in Livingston today. Davie the examiner was great, even though he broke my handbrake (he's stronger than he looks).
Everything else was fine, although I was crapping myself about emissions. A new cable has been ordered and I'll be back in a few weeks.
Can't believe I'm nearly on the road - what am I going to do with my time?
DRIVE IT!
Yeah, never thought of that. I thought kit cars were all about the garage
Well done! Although it's a shame about the handbrake cable. Nearly there! What engine have you got in that?
Cheers Steve,
1.8 Blacktop Zetec with MS2 and GSXR throttle bodies. Thought I'd keep it simple to start with. Here's a picture of it.
Description
Well done chap, nearly there!
well done , your almost there I had an issue with the handbrake cable but the inspector even gave us a hand to sort it
as above ENJOY it it really is the best feeling in the world to be out driving a car that YOU have built. Don't Know if your on the wscc site
aswell but Rab organises quite a few run outs , if you need more details let me know
Cheers Gary, I'll definitely be up for a few runs - when the snow disappears!

them at Killin 6/7/8th june staying in an "octolodge"
http://www.normaftp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Octolodge.html
there is 1 of me so 2 or 3 beds available if you fancy joining us . One of the days we are planning an anti clockwise Killin to the east coast up to
dunnotter castle, Deeside, over the lecht round to cairngorm, funicular railway ride then down the old a9 to killin
Where abouts are you based ? (pm location if you prefer)
also weekend of 17/18/19 june is the Scottish westy run out to applecross on the west coast
Take care, Gary
Thanks for the info Gary - appreciate it.
Retest is next Wednesday then registration to go through so probably cutting it fine for long run in June.
I'm based in Glasgow btw
Good luck for Wednesday should be a formality as I think they just test the fail point
Once your registration application is in they are currently taking about 2 weeks to do the registration , after 2 weeks call kits n rebuilds and
enquire of progress once confirmed ask them to email you a copy , my local car accc shop accepted this and did my plates rather than waiting for the
post to come... and then enjoy . The rest we can sort out when you are ready ,
Gary
Good luck with the retest.
I'm guessing the Bishopbriggs test centre is now closed as you went to Livingston?
Yep, It's just Livingston and Aberdeen for IVA in Scotland now.
Thanks for Info re Registration Gary. Just taking a look at the process now - sent away for forms.
Cheers,
Paul.
hi. You should get back a V5/55 form application for first registration , download amateur build declaration, ( I got all the forms when they sent me
my vin number) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/amateur-built-vehicles-declaration-iva-4
Oh and the registration fee went up in march so with the admin fee I was £290 in total, any problems call kits and rebuilds , they are very helpful
gary
Thanks again Gary,
I'll let you know how I get on.
