Upper Ball Joint Covers - Zip ties ok?
davidimurray - 24/4/12 at 08:29 PM

Just knocked this up in the garage to cover my upper ball joints. Was thinking of putting some foam inside it and then drilling a few holes to pass zip ties through to secure. Are zip ties an acceptable form of securing mechanism?

You need these

We use a cable gland shroud cable tied in place, cheaper & simpler solution than the complete cover which has to be fitted prior to fitting the ball joint, what you've pictured would be ok, but would need sharp edges covering.
Don't se there could be any quibble at IVA over what we use (there never has been) nor what you've made, their main requirementys are durable, permanent & serviceable, cable ties are fine for a serviceable part.
