First of all, I apologise for a topic that I'm certain has been covered before. However, after searching I've got a bit confused and
I'm not sure what I read is relevant to my situation.
I've just bought a kit built in 1999 with an "old L", age related registration and donor. On the V5 it says "visual check
only". If I swap the Crossflow with a more modern engine, say 2004, would it still be a visual check or would it be based on 2004 regulations?
I've read various mentions of vehicles first used before 1975 but is that the age of the donor, the kit car, or just a general loophole for
"Q" plate cars? I've seen a couple of MOT flow charts but one was dated 2005 and was slightly different to another, undated one.
I swapped my crossflow from my 2007 built, age related 'old' w reg. for a puma, it is still a visual only and has no cat fitted.
Visible smoke only, no matter what engine you install
We passed SVA with a crossflow, we're now running a zetec.
MOT requirements stay the same.
Thanks.
Now I need to make my mind up on which engine to swap it for...
There you go, just the job, Ray
