Side Mirrors Mounting

Hi There,
I am currently reviewing where to place my mirrors, they are M3 Type mirrors and being a flat triangle surface they will need mounting onto rubber or
foam pads in order for them to follow the curve of the dash scuttle. I just spoke to the VOSA to ask about did it matter if when sat in the driver
seat I could see the top of the rear wing, he said as long as you have a clear view of behind the car they should be fine. Has anyone fitted any non
standard mirrors on there MNR? I didn't fancy the Racetech ones as I had already had these sprayed the exact colour of my car for another
project I was on with. Any help or pictures would be most useful. If this picture has uploaded they look similar to these.

Beauty is in the eye etc... but I think they'll look pretty awful on the MNR.
Lots of other mirrors available...

I suppose its personal opinion, I have to say I think they look far better than the Race Tech ones, plus they have a shielded mirror, so no loose
movement with speed. I think (Hope) they will look fantastic to be honest, and I don't want my car looking the same as all the rest :-) I think
you need to see them fitted on the car to appreciate them (Maybe I will be eating my words :-)

they wont pass ive as they have to deflect if something was to hit them.

they only have to do that if they are the widest part of the car, which they won't be on a 7.

are your sure that the triangle base mount cant be removed? Or mabye modiy it fo you have the two stalk bits, his wold probably make it easier to
mount

Cheers for the replies, Yeah I am pretty sure they will pass the IVA as they will not stand outside the width of the wheels, and also as the are E
stamped, I did speak to my metal fabricator buddy and he said to just get an overall template of the scuttle where I need to mount them and he will be
able to make a mounting unit so the triangle base sits flat and he can make it fit the curve, it can then be powder coated to match the car. I would
prefer them to sit low down, but if sitting higher gives better view and passes then its a win win for me.

After reading your reply properly this time, I shall take a look at getting that mounting plate off if possible, I think it does remove and yes that
would make it much easier to mount as the mounting posts could be shaped to the body.
