they don't like certain characters (like they don't like chassis numbers without the "correct" number of digits in them) but it
comes back to this- do all car manafacturers in all parts of the world avoid Os, Is etc etc. No. Do they all use 17 digits. No.
Do they make you change the VIN number when you import one of these vehicles. No......
They may prefer VINs to be of a particular type but unless it's been used before there's not much they can do about it....
My number has 1 O and 3 000's in it no problem with DVLA
