Well the sketch is rubbish but here’s what it meant to be…
The red bits the cars body, blue lines the bolts clamping the gray metal plates between the body shell and the inner upright from the chassis (green).
Basically it’s to attach the external cage to the car. What do you think, is it a good idea and be allowed on the track??

would think that there is a high likelihood of the cars weight being borne by the bolts and not the chassis. The bolts will shear in a heavy impact
imho.

hmm I see where you coming from. Though as usual I should have clarified things, as this is the middle hoop just behind the seats. The front and back
mountings are more conventional. I'm wanting to be able to use the hood as normal under the parameter of the cage hence the odd mounting. The
front hoop mounts onto the scuttle (mounts are below) infront of the windscreen surround. The back hoop passes through the rear wings onto the
chassis.
