It's all looking good the following bits are sorted:
- Zorst = Sorted
- Propshaft = Sorted
- Driveshafts = Sorted (Well when I ring Mark @ MAC#1 :p )
- Electrics / Standard Ecu = sorted thanks to the Yanks
Things that need sorting:
Steering column downlink - booo, catches on oil filter
Pedal Box - converting to an Elise master cylinder with wilwood brake bias controller for rears in cockpit.
Need some machining for some brake caliper carriers with the cossie discs - for ultimate stopping...
Need gearstick lever machining slightly as too high
Fitting S2000 clocks into dash and making it look good!
Lack of cash
That's it really.
ETA April 2008...
It's a big job - but hey, one task at a time

god these pics are huge
personally I'd have shrunk each down to 400 pixels wide then opened paintbox, made the area the total stacked hight of all the pictures, then
pasted each into that one long picture. But that's just me.

Looking good!
I'm currently in the middle (more at the start, really) of a Dax Rush build with the F20C. Some pics
here.
I've also decided to go down the route of using the stock ECU, and have had some helpful input from both the US (Ultralite)and Australian (PRB)
folk, though I've only really started thinking about this part of the build.
Have you found any helpful tips and tricks for using the Honda ECU you can share?
Also, what are you doing for an exhaust manifold? I know they're not the same car, but I'm after ideas
I managed to find a routing for the steering column to just miss the oil filter, and give enough room for changing it. This is using the Dax set-up -
modified Sierra column with a UJ a few inches back up from the trouble spot - just skirts round nicely.

The guys I know that have fitted Honda engines to their cars use the Hondata equipment rather than stock. Apparently it is easy to configure.

Matt said to me that he was doing some work with an S2000 engine - he also said that you used to have a zetec and throttle bodies? If so, what have
you done with the throttle bodies?

PeteS2k - I used the standard ecu as easiet and cheapest option - just had the immobiliser circuit removed. I'll also clear the engine
management light by 'frigging' the system - using my mates MODUS diagnostic system.
Keep bugging me - and I'll document it for you
Chris - Many thanks for ALL of your considerable help and advice! Indeed I need to get my finger out ASAP. It's going in for Zorst this weekend
and driveshafts/prop sorted by the end of the month. Then its wiring it in getting a running car - then sorting the dash etc etc.

Looking good, gotta love the V-tec
Just a quick one, why are you going threw all the hassel of using the honda box instead of just a Cossi diff. IIRC the later honda engine go the
"right" way.

If you can use the S2k diff, you get an ATB with a 4.1 ratio, but the hassle of fitting it into the chassis. Probably more of a problem with the
smaller chassis cars, or deDion rear ends, particularly with the rear mounting points.
Sierra diff is probably easier to fit in most chassis, but may be less than ideal for standard ratios - unless you're into stratoshperic top
speeds, or just ignore 6th gear. I've stuck with a Sierra LSD but got a (very expensive!) 4.1 CWP fitted in place of the 3.62. But then
it's my first build so I followed the path of least resistance
It's just a trade-off of costs vs. hassle for each individual build, I guess...

Hehe thanks Pete - I too investigated the route of converting my Sierra LSD into a Quaife 4.1 LSD with Torsen - but it was going to cost £1300!!!
I paid £1750 for:
S2000 engine (20,000 miles FSH)
Gearbox
Clocks
ECU
Full Wiring Loom inc FuseBox
Diff
Driveshafts
It was the ratio and the fact that Matt said he could do it (get it in) that persuaded me

Considering quite a few people bolt superchargers on without upgrading the diff, I would say somewhere in the region of 400bhp+. This is seems to be a
fairly common figure in the states

Rather late but here is the answer.
On a Honda S2000 the weakest link in the drivetrain is the diff.
The S weights 1275Kg so at a guess ,the diff would be much forgiving on a 500Kg car.
The gearbox can hold 400+ WHP without any problem and this on a full weight car. After some constant beating the syncro can go out of the window.
How i know all this I owned a supercharged S2000
