In t' garage this weekend.
Well I've been ploding away this weekend in the garage (cos I've had no cash to do owt else). Sorted my dash out, cos the led's in a
couple of my savage switches decided to stop working. Took the switches out and was just about to :-
a) go mad and chuck them in the bin.
or
b) cry
when I decided to just have a look.
Take all the screw bits & spacers off till you are down to just the button bit and then you can pull the button face off.
Inside you will find a tiny LED bulb. It had come out of its holder in both of the switches. Closed the holder up a bit, re aligned the little base
spring and JD.
Did the final bit of wirring tidying up while I had the dash off, refit dash. Still no lights.
Turned out when refitting I had pulled the earth connection appart.
Wired up the rear fog lamp and refitted.
Drilled holes for and mounted the reversing lamp. Connected up wirring and refitted lamp. Checked operation of both lamps and number plate lamp.
Sweet.
Next was the first offering up of the rear wheel arches.
Rear wings offered up
Then I got the rear lamp housings out for the outer rear light. They had been in the bag and in a box since I got them home from when I
bought them (Newark 2006) but the trouble is that while I thought they were safe & protected, the mounting card & metal blind nuts on the top
one of the two in the packet had/has badly marked the carbon fibre effect on the lower one. So I shall have to get some new ones.
Any way, progress is being made, albeit slowly. I would also like to appologise for not gettin to Donnington to meet you all. I didn't get in
till about 05:00 this morning and by the time I woke up it was about 12:45 so with an hours journey, once I had got my paper work done I would not
have got to donnington till about 15:00 or later.

Donny was closed out at 4:30, Clive. So you made the right call not coming. It was the smallest show I've seen in the 4 I've been to over
the years - Made all the worse by the fact that there was the Vintage Sports Cars Club having a go on the track so you coud hear all of these
wonderful engines going past but not see a thing (unless you were prepared to pay the £25 for view only ticket:mad
Unless they get access to the track for the manufacturers (and maybe the owner's clubs) and bring in some of the more specialist suppliers (I
could have bought the same poor quality socket set seven times over) then it's going to die.
I had a nice day and met a lot of folks that I know in Cyberspace but never seen in the flesh - I also had an utter blast on twisty roads coming home
(On the off chance that the owner of that nice black Golf GTi that I [cough]embarrassed[/cough] near Coleshill is reading, I apologise but you had it
coming amigo)
Anyway, enough of that twaddle - Car's looking fab mate - Big push for Exeter?....
