further progress & UPDATE
Well, I came home from Newark armed with a length of alloy angle & good intensions to make a mounting braket for my brake reservoir.
To cut a long story short, after first attempt I called TrevD & he welded thd next one for me. Its a shame that it is hidden coz its the dogs
danglies. Thanks Trev.
Anyway the end result is that I now have brakes, albeit a bit soft due to everything being new & not beded in.
The next step WILL be to get the engine running, now I know I can stop it.
Reservoir mount from top
Reservoir mount from side
Enjoy

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Betcha have a real surge in progress with the incentive of getting the beast fired up.
Nothing quite like it, especially if you get the timing 180 degs out like I did. Lovely flame thrower effect out the top of my carb Excellent!
Cheers for now.

The incentive Ive got is that the Mother-in Law (from Hell as admitted by my wife) is leaving our umble abode on the 23rd July 2007. For
EVER.
And I would just like to fire it up, as per Piper Camshafts instructions as a passing treat for her.
Oh did I mention that they say I should run the engine at 2500 rmp for half an hour.
Oh did I also mention that I have NO EXHAUST on the car.
AND did I also mention that she currently lives ABOVE the garage.
She will be sorely missed.

Was she absent the day I collected that fuel tank Clive? I couldn't smell brimstone or hear sentorian breathing, that's all
Or was she out terrorising the local populace at the time?

Unfortunately SHE was there but she shuts herself in her room.
Anyway been busy again today (and several days this week) so I feel like I am finaly making progress in the engine bay.
I now have the reservoir fitted and no leaks.
Reservoir fitted 1
and
Reservoir fitted 2
also the alternator mounting sorted out, cut the old mounting up and inverted it to give me the clearance on the steering column. ok the belt
tensioning needs sorting but that should be easy.
Alternator mounting from front
And the Airflow meter mounting is sorted.
Airflow meter mounting front
and
Airflow meter mounting rear
Enjoy.

Does it get any better? quick fill out your lottery numbers while you're on a roll.
Brake fluid reservoir mounting looks ace BTW. Neatly out of the way and minimal hose to the master cylinders....nice one.
Cheers
Dave.
