The electric ones were fun!...
open the throttle to FULL... then switch on the Ignition. With a fully charged battery (about 6 car batts in the back) you could nearly lift the front
wheel off the ground..
WahHOOO... I was nearly doing wheelies in my dads car... I was only about 12!!
The petrol ones were fun too.... Too much oil and lots of throttle at low revs.. made a good impression of a Naval Smoke Screen
Dad had a petrol one at first, 197cc Villiers 11E, single cylinder, air cooled, with electric start. He even went to Bavaria in Southern Germany in it
to see a specialist Doctor. He told me he got 70mph out of it on the Autobahn..

He had Multiple Sclerosis, but that didnt stop him!
He was fluent in French and German (written, spoken and self taught, whilst billeted in Germany after WW2) so it wasnt a big problem. This was about
1965, and he was in a wheelchair as well!.

BTW,,, they were mild steel, only the later ones were Fi-Glass / GRP stuff.
His were Mild Steel, both of them, the petrol and the Electric one.
